We cannot believe Alex turned 3 almost 2 months ago! While his own personality is definitely shining through he continues to follow quite closely in Ben's footsteps, often saying "but you're my brother Ben, I love you." They definitely have a special bond even though this quarantine has sometimes pushed them both to their limits. Alex still loves dressing up, probably now more than ever. He loves to put on shows, go to Target or the grocery store and play doctor/vet while taking care of his baby dolls and animals. While he loves to play with all of his toys at home he often says he misses school and his friends.
We also celebrated Alex's 3rd Heartiversary shortly after his birthday. We usually celebrate with heart things but that was a little harder to do this year without being able to go to a bunch of different stores. He had a little photo shoot with his special heart cape and we had a great day playing outside.
We had a trip to the pediatrician for his annual check up and to practice wearing his mask. He did great thanks to Ben. The following day we traveled to CHOP for a routine echo. He kept his mask on the whole time and even laid down all by himself thanks to a Paw Patrol DVD. The echo did not show anything concerning, but it is not able to provide enough information so Alex will be going for a cardiac MRI in the next month and will likely need a cath this summer.
Bobby will be holding "summer camp" for the boys as I get back to fairly normal work hours starting next week. We were looking forward to a very busy summer but it looks like we will be having a lot of quality time at home especially with Alex’s upcoming test and procedure.
